Leeds Games Jam
Running through April to get you excited about games design and the amazing books featured on the BBC Novels That Shaped Our World list, Leeds Libraries have organised a series of workshop and events. These include:
• Games Jam: Create A Literary Escape Room Tickets, Wed, Apr 14, 2021 at 6:00 PM | Eventbrite
Learn how to take inspiration from a book to create an escape room that will be instantly recognisable to its readers, whilst introducing newcomers to the story-world without spoilers. We’ll cover setting, narrative and puzzle-design.
• Games Jam: Behind the Books Tickets, Wed, Apr 21, 2021 at 1:00 PM | Eventbrite
As part of the BBC Novels That Shaped Our World programme, join Rhian Isaac and Josh Flint from Leeds Libraries for a discussion about the real life history behind some of the well-known books from the BBC Novels That Shaped Our World list.
In this panel event you'll hear how Libraries and Museums engage audiences with games! From using Scratch with our Code Clubs, to creating escape room scenarios to introduce groups to the library, to writing choose-your-adventure stories in Twine. This event is open to all but may be of particular interest to those working within a culture and learning setting.
