Novels That Shaped Our World: Politics, Power & Protest
Nottingham, UNESCO City of Literature, will stage three author workshops beginning on 6 March around the theme of 'Politics, Power & Protest'.
'Mistressclass', 6 March from 11 am to 1 pm
This session is for new and emerging women writers. Guest author Abi Daré will discuss her work and route to publication and will give advice to aspiring writers.
'Forgotten Voices, 13 March from 11 am to 1 pm
Authors Sophie Sparham and Zing Tsjeng will highlight the power of the novel in opening our eyes to social injustices. This event will also include a Book Club discussion and Q&A.
'Manfesto for Change', 20 March from 11 am to 1 pm
Poet Michelle ‘Mother’ Hubbard plus special guest Selina Nwulu will discuss the role of women in the future. Together with the audience they will produce a manifesto for change - a vision of women's creative power and social currency.
