Come along and talk to various local and family history groups, find out more about what they do and how you can get involved.
Take a look around the History Centre where you can carry out your research and members of the Family History Society will be on hand to help you with your queries
Join a tour of the Bolton Archives strongroom. The strongroom is not usually accessible to the public but you are invited to join the archivist to take a peek inside and have a look at some of the treasures from Bolton’s archive collections. From the oldest to the biggest there will be a range of historical documents on display to give you an idea of the type of records the archives hold and how they could help you with your family or local history research.
There’ll be tours for adults on the Saturday and tours for children along with their carers on Saturday 18 May. To book your free place on the tours which run at 11am, 1pm and 3pm call the History Centre on 01204 332185 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
