Advocacy and Influencing

Advocacy and Influencing
13 October 2026 12:00 - 13:00

How can you raise the profile of your library service and make the case for investment, support and development?

Join Emma Hoddinott, Director of Policy, External Affairs and Research, and James Gray, Communications and Advocacy Manager, for an introduction to effective library advocacy. Drawing on our Library Advocacy: A Beginner's Guide, the session will cover setting advocacy priorities, building relationships with councillors, demonstrating impact, developing key messages and working with the media.

You'll leave with practical ideas and simple actions you can take to strengthen local awareness and support for your library service. Suitable for all library professionals, but particularly useful for those new to advocacy.

Please note that this webinar will be recorded. If you cannot make the scheduled date, please still register to ensure you receive the recording link after the session
