The Empathy Day Festival and the National Year of Reading partnership

The Empathy Day Festival runs from 4-11 June 2026 with a fabulous line up of the nation’s favourite children’s authors. Join us to find out how libraries can get involved and the resources available to you.

Speakers will include:

• EmpathyLab ambassador A.M. Dassu internationally acclaimed author of 13 children’s books, including Boy, Everywhere and Fight Back and Kicked Out.
• Jason Vit from The National Literacy Trust who will be explaining more about the Empathy Day Festival collaboration with The National Year of Reading on The Big Lunch: Sharing Stories and opportunities for libraries.
