This one-hour webinar will explore how library services are using apprenticeships as a route into public library careers and workforce development.

Alexis Filby will share Sheffield Libraries' experience of supporting apprentices and the positive impact this has had on the service. She will be joined by Sharron Chaudhry, Tutor Assessor with Sheffield City Council's Apprenticeship Team, who will offer insights from the training and assessment perspective.

Karolynne Hart will discuss the development of Gateshead Libraries and Arts' apprenticeship programme, including the opportunities, challenges and lessons learned from embedding apprenticeships across library and arts services.

Together, the speakers will reflect on the benefits, challenges and practical considerations of using apprenticeships to support workforce development and put the ambitions of Shared Ambitions: Developing the Future Public Library Workforce into practice.
