Webinar: Managing disruptive behaviour in libraries

We want libraries to be safe, supportive environments for everyone. Disruptive behaviour is something that frontline workers across the British Isles are having to manage on a regular basis in every setting. This webinar will focus on different approaches to reducing incidences of disruptive behaviour in libraries and where they do occur, reducing the impact on staff.
Our speakers are:
- James Pearson, Head of Libraries, Registration & Archives, Kent County Council will discuss a toolbox of approaches
- Russell Allen, Head of Libraries and Heritage, West Sussex County Council will discuss work to develop the Library Welfare Officer role.
- Sharon Traill, Community Hubs and Libraries Manager, Newcastle City Council will discuss joined up work with the police, town centre team, and other agencies in the centre of Newcastle.
The remainder of the meeting will be “open mic” format, for you to share your experiences, examples and insights into what you have found works for reducing incidences and impact of disruptive behaviour.
This webinar is for Heads of Service or their nominated representative. Heads of Service may wish to invite a colleague from their corporate division to attend. If you are unable to book on to the event, please contact lauren.okill@librariesconnected.org.uk or becky.scott@librariesconnected.org.uk
