On 2 March, DCMS confirmed that it intends to publish a new strategy for public libraries later this year to highlight their position at the heart of communities and their pivotal role in improving the lives of working people. This strategy will highlight how libraries support this government’s Plan for Change ambitions to provide opportunities for all and will encourage cross-government action to ensure public libraries are fit for the future.

The DCMS Libraries Team will be presenting their work to date and sharing some of structure and draft content of the new strategy. They would welcome feedback and comments from library staff attending the webinar to set alongside other engagement with sector bodies, library partners, unions etc.
