Webinar: Social Value Impact Programme Launch
Libraries Connected Social Value Impact Programme responds to the sector needs around increased demands for data and evaluation, with a focus on using social value to make it benefit libraries rather than accountants. This webinar will introduce the key workstreams of the programme and the key concepts, such as what social economic value is and how it can benefit the library services. Speakers include John Gordon from The University of East Anglia, part of the original Libraries for Living team, talking about the methods used there and the approach taken to building the original case studies that informed the report, and Alan Woods from Blackpool Libraries on how work with Social Value on a branch library has led to an argument to extend opening hours.
The programme utilizes an outcome focused research framework based on the methodologies used in the original Libraries For Living report conducted by The University of East Anglia with the East of England Region and follow on projects undertaken across the country.
The programme includes a webinar series covering topics such as what social value is, the different tools available and the work being preformed with library services across the country. These webinars offer a great jumping off point for library services and staff who want to explore this area and are a good development opportunity for anyone whose role covers data or who has an interest in the topic. For those who are already working on projects, the programme includes a community of practise, which will be a peer led, mutually supportive group to share best practise and offer help with common issues.
The programme and framework are incredibly flexible and adaptable and will work with different tools and different outcomes. So whether you want to use data evaluation for advocacy or service planning, the Social Value Impact Programme will work for you.
