Webinar: Understanding eBook Lending in Public Libraries & the eLicensing Landscape
Join us for an informative webinar hosted by Emma House, who is leading Phase 2 of the eLicensing project, funded by Arts Council England. Building on earlier pilot work, this phase focuses specifically on mapping the public library e-lending landscape, identifying key stakeholders across the supply chain and addressing structural barriers that limit access to digital content in public libraries.
The project is exploring practical, sustainable models for digital licensing, alongside initiatives to strengthen connections between publishers and public libraries. This includes improving visibility, simplifying routes to market and identifying where current systems, pricing models or distribution processes may be inhibiting wider participation.
This session will give independent publishers a clearer understanding of how eBook lending works within public libraries, while also sharing tangible developments designed to support better engagement with this market.
Agenda highlights include:
- An overview of the eLicensing Phase 2 project, including the launch of a new contact-sharing mechanism to help publishers and public libraries connect, collaborate and expand access to digital content
- A practical introduction to how eBook lending operates in public libraries
- The launch of a new guide to eBook lending for publishers working with public libraries
- A public library perspective on user experience and stock selection, with insights from a library representative
- Live Q&A
