Libraries Connected held a Universal Library Offer Seminar online on Tuesday 15 June, over 1000 people booked to join the event from over 90 different library services.

The day focused on our four Universal Library Offer themes and aimed to inspire people working in libraires by offering practical ideas that could easily be put into practice. The event was aimed at mid-level library managers and development staff working in libraries, but anyone was welcome to attend.

At the event people heard from our six Universal Library Offer and Promise Leads about the plans they had for the coming year and how libraries can get involved, as well as inspirational speakers from outside the sector including:

• Dr Clare Etherington talking about how libraries can support children’s mental health.
• Sam Steer from the Inn Crowd talking about their work getting artists and performers back into libraries.
• Representatives from the APLE Collective talking about addressing the Digital Divide and Tackle Digital Exclusion.
• Stuart Hamilton, Head of Libraries Development for the Local Government Management Agency (LGMA) in Ireland talking about Ireland Reads.
