Libraries Connected publishes new report on library loan trends
Libraries Connected has today published a comprehensive review of trends in library borrowing across England and Wales.
The study, led by consultancy Independent Mind, gathered data from 34 library services using a co-designed tool developed with library stock managers. Researchers analysed borrowing trends from 2019-2025 across formats, age groups and demographics
The report offers a detailed picture of how library borrowing has changed since the pandemic, revealing trends in formats and user behaviour. It provides evidence-based insights to support service development and strategic planning.
Learn more about the research at our webinar on Friday 28 November, with Independent Mind and Norfolk and Lewisham library services.
