Peter is Chief Executive of Inspire - Culture Learning and Libraries, which delivers the public library service, education library service, youth arts, adult education, college programme, archives and records management on behalf of the Nottinghamshire County Council. He has also worked for Gloucestershire, Monmouthshire and Gwent County Councils, Birmingham Chamber of Industry and Commerce, GKN plc and Birmingham City Council. Peter has been a member of the Society of Chief Librarians executive committee, Chair of SCL Wales and the Chair of East Midlands Libraries Connected. He is Chair of Libraries and Information East Midlands (LIEM) the regional cross sector training partnership. Peter also sits on the board of Inspire in his role as CEO and is a member of the Discover Ashfield place partnership board. Peter was awarded a British Empire Medal (BEM) in the Queen's Birthday Honours in 2020 for services to libraries and culture.
