'Every public library is as good as the best'
We have secured a grant of £128,456 from Arts Council England to clearly define what a high-quality library service looks like.
We aim to develop and deliver an authoritative, sector-led scheme to help libraries in England to meet the needs of their local communities.
We will work closely with the Arts Council and CILIP to develop the new framework. Shared Intelligence will deliver the consultation and co-creation for this project to ensure that we develop a practical scheme that works as a service development tool.
What does a quality mean for a modern library service?
We are holding an online session on Friday 21 August at 2pm to explore this question and more.
The results of this discussion will help to inform our work on an accreditation framework for public libraries with Arts Council England and CILIP.
The session is open to everyone who supports or cares about libraries and we want to hear from as many of you as possible. Register here to join us.
We are pleased to also be working with The British Library and The National Archives on this project.
