Seeking and securing developer contributions for libraries and archives

Friday, 1 December, 2023 - 10:30 to 12:00

This webinar will explain how libraries and archives can engage with the local planning process and plan-making officials in order to secure funding through Section 106 legal agreements (S106) and/or the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL), collectively known as developer contributions.

Aimed at Heads of Service and local authority leadership teams with responsibility for the strategic planning, development and delivery of library and archive services across England, the session will explore key elements of the newly published guidance including the differences around S106 and CIL, the national planning system, how libraries and archives can engage in the process, and useful checklists to get started.

The webinar will be hosted by two of the authors of the guidance, Katie Norgrove of Cultural Consulting Network and Professor Stephen Walker of Oxford Brookes University. The guidance is funded by Arts Council England in partnership with The National Archives.
