BBC Novels that Shaped our World: I Am Not Friday

Tuesday, 3 August, 2021 - 14:00 to Sunday, 8 August, 2021 - 18:00
Greater Manchester libraries

Often regarded as the first English novel, we are all familiar with the basics of the Robinson Crusoe story: A man, a shipwreck to a desert Island, survival skills - and his faithful servant, Man Friday. But what if Robinson Crusoe got some things wrong? What if ‘Man’ Friday wasn’t? And what if this wasn’t the first novel after all?

From Tuesday 3 August to Saturday 7 August Oldham Libraries will take their 'I Am Not Friday' show - a retelling of Robinson Crusoe - on a tour across Greater Manchester libraries. These events are part of the BBC Novels that Shaped our World libraries programme. They are free, in-person events and are suitable for ages 12 and above.
