The librarians behind a family-friendly tech festival, an innovative prison library and a scheme to inspire young entrepreneurs are among this year’s winners of the Libraries Connected Awards. The Awards celebrate the achievements of library workers who have had an exceptional impact on their library service, users or their local communities. The Awards have six categories reflecting the core services that modern library services provide.

We are pleased to announce that we will be managing part of a new government programme that will fund library projects reducing loneliness and widening volunteering opportunities. The scheme is part of the Know Your Neighbourhood (KYN) Fund, a £29 million package of funding from the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), designed to widen participation in volunteering and tackle loneliness in 27 disadvantaged areas across England.

Libraries Connected is seeking a Projects and Finance Administrator to support the successful delivery of projects and financial processes.

Twenty-six library services are shortlisted for the prestigious national awards.

Through Business & IP Centres and other localised services, the library network has become one of the country’s most effective and accessible sources of support for new and growing businesses.

Over £135m has been awarded to projects involving libraries.
